At Film Wellington, we understand filming is not a 9 to 5 job.  Rest assured, there is always someone available to advise and help you 24/7.  On larger productions when you are filming in the CBD area, someone will always be on hand to make sure your filming goes smoothly.  Contact us.

 

Locations

 

Film Wellington has an expanding location library which is updated regularly.  We also have a number of excellent location scouts who are ready to help you to find that perfect spot.  Location fees vary depending on where you want to film.  All local government parks and gardens are charged out at (NZ)$250 a half day to (NZ)$400 for a full day.  Private land and buildings are negotiable with the owner.

 

Logistics                                                                                                      

 

When you have a complex shoot in the city, you can leave a lot of the worrying to us.  Film Wellington will pull together a team of people who will work through the logistics of your shoot with you.  Whether you need to close roads, change street markings, control street lights or traffic lights, divert traffic, re-route buses, hold up a bank or drive a herd of sheep through the CBD, we've done it all before.  We love challenges, so think up something new for us to do!  Don't forget there is no cost for the service Film Wellington provides.

 

Parking

 

Parking can be expensive when you have a large crew, however Film Wellington can negotiate reasonable rates throughout the city of Wellington.  Most parking in the suburbs is free.  Film Wellington will arrange all your parking needs.

 

Road closures

 

Road closures are our specialty.  In fact no other city can offer you a service like we can.  Film Wellington has been closing roads for filming since it opened 10 years ago, so there is nothing we can't tell you about it.  When you need to close an inner city road, Film Wellington pulls together a team of people who will advise and work on your traffic management plans and logistics.  Obviously, for a full road closure, the more notice you can give us, the better.   

 

Travel

 

Travel time is another bonus.  After landing at Wellington airport, it will take you a mere 15 minutes to drive to the central business district where you will find the main hotel chains and restaurants.  A five minute drive from the airport will get you to Stone Street Studios, Park Road Post, Weta Workshop and Weta Digital, a saving on both time and money.  The region offers a wide range of locations from modern city to lush rural landscapes and dramatic coastlines all within an hour's drive.
